Cray Inc. Names Scott Poteracki as Chief Financial Officer
SEATTLE – Global supercomputer leader Cray Inc. today announced the appointment of Scott Poteracki as Vice President – Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Poteracki, age 49, served from March of this year as the Chief Financial Officer of Racal Instruments Group, Ltd. of Irvine, California, a manufacturer of electronics test and measurement equipment and systems sold to high technology companies world-wide. Prior to joining Racal Instruments, he was Corporate Controller and Senior Director, Finance, of Broadcom, Inc., a leading provider of highly integrated silicon solutions that enable broadband digital transmission of voice, video and data. At Broadcom, Poteracki was responsible for financial activities worldwide, including treasury, tax, financial planning and analysis, external reporting, and the business unit controllers. From 1978 to June 2000, when he joined Broadcom, Poteracki held a number of positions at Motorola, Inc., most recently as Corporate Vice President and Director, Finance of its Internet and Networking Group, headquartered in Boston, and Vice President and Director, Finance of the Computer Group headquartered in Chicago. Before joining Motorola, he was with Coopers & Lybrand for two years. Poteracki received a BS, Accounting, from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Arizona State University and is a certified public accountant. “We have taken this step to strengthen our management group,” said James E. Ralphs, who resigned to pursue other interests.
