Cray Inc. Receives Cray SV1 Supercomputer Order

SEATTLE, WA -- Global supercomputer provider Cray Inc. (Nasdaq:CRAY - news) today announced an order for a Cray SV1(TM) supercomputer upgrade from an undisclosed government customer. Cray will complete the Cray SV1 upgrade in the fourth quarter of 2001. Financial terms were not disclosed. The system upgrade will increase performance by 60 percent, double the memory capacity and significantly enhance the I/O capabilities available in the customer's existing system. The Cray SV1 product line was named ``Best Supercomputer'' for 2001 by the readership of Scientific Computing & Instrumentation magazine, and is the technological forerunner to the Cray SV2(TM) series -- on schedule for availability in the second half of 2002.
