Medical Grade Fan-less PC Provides High-Performance Graphic Processing in Medical Imaging Applications


Nexcom has officially expanded its business scope to medical embedded system by introducing a new medical platform which is specifically targeted at the healthcare sector.

NEXCOM NISE 3140- Medical Grade PC is a rugged fan-less embedded computing system equipped with powerful Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. Using the Intel graphics media accelerator 4500MHD, the rugged NISE 3140M is capable to deliver exceptional graphics performance with notable rates of data transfer.

NISE 3140M is compliant with EN60601-1, a standard for medical grade computer; Hence, it is made for a variety of healthcare computing applications. In addition to medical certification, the platform retains all the other benefits of a proven industrial computing system including outstanding reliability and long term CPU support. As a result, medical customers can enjoy the extended longevity support of up to seven years.

The fan-less design is one of the imperative features which eliminate the concerns of dust accumulation. The quiet and ultra-reliable operation makes it a good fit for using in even the quietest of hospital bed-side environments.

Housed in a robust aluminum chassis, the NISE 3140M provides a number of important features required by image processing operation, including dual-channel DDR3 memory, two Gigabit Ethernet LANs and auto-direction control on RS485 and optional dual IEEE 1394b ports. On-board DC to DC power design of wide range DC input (16V-30V) is specially developed for medical UPS environments. On top of this, one PCI expansion is available to integrate optional off-the-shelf modules.
