Georgia Tech 2nd Workshop on Software and Applications for Cell BE

The Sony-Toshiba-IBM Center of Competence at Georgia Tech will be hosting the 2nd Workshop on Software and Applications for the Cell Broadband Engine, to be held on Thursday, July 10 and Friday, July 11, at the Klaus Advanced Computing Building, Georgia Institute of Technology, in Atlanta, GA, United States. There is no registration fee. However, we ask that you register online by 30 June 2008 at sti.cc.gatech.edu/ by selecting the Workshop 2008 link.   • Keynote Talk on "The Cell at Los Alamos: Ray Tracing to Roadrunner" by Allen McPherson of Los Alamos National Laboratory - Plans and Successes of the STI Centers of Competence in the Americas, Europe, and Japan.
  • Applications on Low-Cost Cell/B.E. clusters
  • Computer Vision and Digital Imaging
  • Programmability (Language and Compiler) with speakers from UPC/Barcelona, Reservoir Labs, and IBM
  • Programmability (Programming Model and Common Runtime) with speakers from Toshiba, Sony, and IBM
  • Programmability (ISV Programmability Framework and Tooling) with speakers from Gedae, RapidMind, and Encirq

The workshop is sponsored by Georgia Tech and the Sony, Toshiba, IBM, (STI) Center of Competence for the Cell/B.E. This workshop follows the successful first meeting in June 2007 that welcomed nearly 200 participants to the forum. Participants are responsible for their travel expenses, including airfare and hotel accommodation. A block of rooms have been reserved at the Courtyard Marriott in Atlanta Midtown/Georgia Tech and at the Marriott Residence Inn Atlanta Midtown/17th Street hotels. Georgia Tech will provide ground transportation from the Courtyard and Residence Inn hotels to the Klaus building in the morning, and transportation back to the hotel in the evening.
