SAIC: From Science to Solutions Job Description: Support the Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO) at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center. Candidate will participate in software development, porting existing codes to the Earth Systems Modeling Framework and code optimization for a variety of parallel computer architectures. The codes comprise general circulation models for the atmosphere and ocean, land surface and sea-ice models, ocean biology and atmospheric chemistry and their associated assimilation systems. Education: Ph.D. or M.S. in Computational Fluid Dynamics or related field, mathematics, or computer science. Required Skills: Solid background in code and script development in FORTRAN90 and UNIX along with previous hands-on experience in coding for parallel computer architectures. Experience with CVS is essential. Desired Skills: Experience with large-scale computations for an Earth science discipline is desirable.
