Paradigm Solutions Deliver Deeper Insights into the Subsurface at SEG 2012

Presentations will show how advanced applications reveal unprecedented levels of subsurface detail for quality prospecting, ranking and well planning.

Paradigm (www.pdgm.com) will present its full portfolio of advanced software solutions for integrated oil and gas E&P workflows at the SEG 82nd Annual Meeting & Exposition in Las Vegas, to be held November 4-9. Conference attendees are invited to join Paradigm at Booth #2345 for a series of daily live software demonstrations, featuring the newest innovations in seismic imaging, interpretation, model building and characterization, including previews of the 2013 release.Regional-to-prospect scale interpretation

Paradigm’s technologies and workflows enable deeper insight into the subsurface. This theme will be featured in all SEG demonstrations. Visitors to the booth will be able to see regional-to-prospect interpretation carried out with embedded GPU-based voxel rendering and pre-stack data in a single visualization canvas. Presentations will also highlight how massive amounts of data can easily be harnessed during the interpretation workflow, and how modeling workflows that accurately represent the subsurface drive the development of high-quality reservoir models.

Other demonstrations will focus on the wide variety of Paradigm technologies that help geoscientists gain the most from their data:

  • Full-azimuth imaging as a breakthrough in shale resource characterization
  • Understanding subsalt uncertainty with full-azimuth illumination
  • Predicting lithofacies using pre-stack seismic classification procedures
  • Chrono-stratigraphic interpretation for improved reservoir modeling
  • Automated, sealed, stratigraphic velocity modeling for improved ROI from seismic data
  • A new solution for creating a single, truly-shared earth model that is faithful to geology
  • Tomography advancements for large datasets and complex velocity distributions
  • Sweet spot determination using seismic attributes
  • Embedded, interactive well planning and geosteering

Paradigm Subject Matter Experts will be available for one-on-one demonstrations of specific workflows and software applications. The company will also be providing private previews of its next-generation platform and technologies.

“We are excited to share our latest technology innovations with customers and the SEG community,” said Duane Dopkin, executive vice-president of Technology at Paradigm. “Our commitment to innovation translates into customer value, through the ability to achieve accurate results and improve productivity with no compromises.”

Advance registration for lunch is required for Paradigm’s popular main theatre Lunch & Learn sessions, where Paradigm partners, customers and technical experts will offer their views on best practices using Paradigm solutions.

Dr. Zvi Koren, Paradigm Chief Geophysicist, and Dr. Igor Ravve, Senior Scientific Developer, will be honored at the Editors’ Reception and Dinner on November 5th for their scientific article, Full-azimuth subsurface angle domain wavefield decomposition and imaging, Part I: Directional and reflection image gathers, which was awarded an Honorable Mention in the category of Best Paper in GEOPHYSICS Magazine for 2011.

Paradigm will also have an active presence at the SEG technical program, in such diverse sessions as Methods/Tools for Reservoir Monitoring (Anomaly Detection Using Dynamic Neural Networks, Classification of Prestack Data), Unconventional Shale Reservoirs (Integrated Study of an Eagle Ford Shale Play Using a Variety of Seismic Attributes), Advances in Uncertainty Quantification (Integrated Uncertainty Assessment: From Seismic and Well Logs to Flow Simulation), and Seismic Diffraction Methods for Fault and Fracture Detection (Imaging of Corner Reflection Events using Subsurface Directional Angle Decomposition) (post-convention workshop).
