Altair Engineering Hosts First HyperWorks Technology Conference

The free seminar will bring together more than 300 engineering professionals to see presentations highlighting real-world applications by industry thought-leaders who are among Altair's clients. The presentations will address the significance of state-of-the-art optimization practices and CAE design processes, as well as demonstrate how they relate to designing for performance, robustness and reliability. Day One focuses on optimization and begins with a keynote address by Ahsan Iqbal of The Boeing Company Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) facility in Philadelphia. Iqbal, senior manager of Structural Analysis for Boeing's IDS facility, will discuss how optimization tools are being used at Boeing to balance the need for high performance with stringent weight restrictions in the development of advanced aircraft. His address will be followed by presentations from: * ArvinMeritor, on optimization challenges in exhaust system development. * Siemens VDO, on optimizing the NVH performance of air induction systems. * FTSS Corporation, on leveraging optimization to improve injury correlation in head-drop situations. * The Boeing Company, on wing leading edge structural optimization on the Boeing 787. * Cessna, on stretch forming die optimization. * Henkel, on optimizing the locations and designs of structural foam automotive body reinforcements to improve vehicle noise/vibration/harshness (NVH) characteristics. * Altair Engineering, on trends in structural optimization and design. Day Two focuses on finite-element analysis (FEA) and multi-body dynamics (MBD). The keynote address will be presented by Francis Arnaudeau, managing director of RADIOSS Development at Altair. Arnaudeau is the co-creator of RADIOSS transient, non-linear CAE technology and co-founded the Mecalog Group. Altair recently acquired the French company and its RADIOSS software product family. His address on trends and advancements in product safety performance technology will be followed by presentations from: * Alstom, on using RADIOSS simulation technology to address European rail system requirements. * Motorola, on tailoring CAE modeling processes to reduce cell phone development time. * DaimlerChrysler (DCX), on integration and automation for MBD and FEA analysis tools for durability simulation, as well as a second presentation on vehicle loads prediction and correlation at DCX. * Ford Motor Company, on body durability, NVH and safety CAE process automation. * Altair PBS GridWorks, on grid computing in CAE.
