AberdeenGroup Expands Product Innovation and Engineering Research Practice

Jackson comes to Aberdeen with 11 years of experience in MCAD and PLM at PTC, where he gained a broad and deep understanding of end user business needs and processes while serving in product development and sales roles. He brings a combination of expertise in the use of technology throughout the product development process, analytic skills, and experience aligning technology with end user and business processes. Jackson brings domain expertise in electronic design automation (EDA), engineering simulation, mechanical computer-aided design automation (MCAD), and product data management (PDM) to the practice. Aberdeen instituted the Product Innovation and Engineering practice with the acquisition in May 2005 of Tech-Clarity, an independent research and consulting company focusing on the business value of PLM and other software technology. The Product Innovation practice provides Aberdeen clients with in- depth benchmarks, strategic insight, and education on the product innovation, product development, and engineering challenges facing today's global businesses. Jackson's appointment enables the practice to provide more in- depth coverage to meet manufacturers' demands for facts-based analysis and advice on improving product innovation performance. Jackson is currently conducting research for a mechatronic system design benchmark report. The report will examine different approaches to meeting the challenges of coordinating mechanical, electrical, and software design efforts for complex product development and identify best practices and technology enablers that help companies succeed. AberdeenGroup, Inc. provides fact-based research and insights focused on the global, technology-driven value chain. Aberdeen's benchmarking, market and solution assessments, sales acceleration programs, and conferences support Global 5000 value chain and technology executives and the solution providers who serve them.
