Highlights from Gartner: - Sun grew 7.6% year-to-year in overall worldwide server revenue; Sun is the only top-five server vendor to have positive revenue growth both year-to-year and quarter-to-quarter. - Sun moved to number one in worldwide UNIX server revenue with 31.4% of worldwide UNIX platform server revenue. Revenue for the SunFire V490 server grew at 142.7% and the Sun Fire V890 server grew revenue 86.8%, both year-to-year, while the SunFire Coolthreads T2000 server revenue more than doubled sequentially (Q/Q). - Sun is number one in worldwide UNIX server shipments with 51.2% of the shipments in this segment. - Sun achieved the highest year-to-year growth among the top five server vendors in both Linux platform server revenue and unit shipments. - Sun more than doubled revenue for its AMD Opteron-based Sun Fire x64 (x86, 64-bit) servers year-to-year.
