DataSynapse Completes Banner Year in 2004

DataSynapse GridServer software virtualizes application data components and business logic and distributes them over a shared system infrastructure, creating a standards-based, utility computing capability that delivers substantially higher service levels for radically lower cost. Leading-edge organizations in the financial services, government and energy sectors have turned to DataSynapse to realize the benefits of an application architecture that scales without increased overhead or complexity. According to market research firm Gartner Group, organizations that do not utilize virtualization technologies spend 25 percent more annually for hardware, software, labor and space for servers. "DataSynapse has grown twenty-fold since 2001 by providing strategic software solutions that help companies create a more agile and responsive IT infrastructure," said Peter Lee, CEO of DataSynapse. "DataSynapse will continue to sustain strong performance by helping our clients realize the benefits of a shared computing environment." 2004 highlights include: -- Customer Wins: DataSynapse reinforced its leadership position by more than doubling its client roster in 2004 to over 30 global corporations. In the financial sector, Goldman Sachs, one of the world's oldest and largest investment banking firms, selected GridServer for deployment in its global risk management division beginning in the first quarter of 2005. DataSynapse also expanded its presence in vertical markets with wins in energy and government. -- Product Innovations: DataSynapse announced enhancements to its award-winning GridServer software in 2004. Moving beyond traditional high-performance-computing environments, GridServer can be deployed across the enterprise, grid-enabling the widest array of application types (including compute-, data- and throughput-intensive applications as well as service-oriented architectures) allowing those applications to run over a variety of resource types (including mainframes, blade servers, and desktops). The company also launched its one-of-a-kind rapid application assessment methodology, GRIDesign in May. -- Industry Recognition: Validating the company's commitment to product excellence and customer satisfaction, this year DataSynapse and its customers received several top industry awards. The company was named best grid solution by Waters magazine along with one of the top 10 technology companies to watch in 2004 by Bank Technology News. For its outstanding achievement through the use of DataSynapse's grid solution, customers Nationwide and Wachovia were honored in InfoWorld magazine's 2004 Top 100 list. In addition, DataSynapse received a 2004 IBM PartnerWorld Beacon Award for its ability to address the growing business need for real-time processing solutions that significantly reduce costs and the 2004 KPMG and AlwaysOn (AO) 100 Top Private Companies award for innovation and demonstrated leadership. -- Strategic Partnerships and Management Growth: Accelerating the worldwide adoption of DataSynapse's grid solution, the company has teamed with partners who are pursuing major grid initiatives most notably, IBM and Intel. Both of these partnerships yielded new, joint client wins in 2004. Chartered with leading the next phase of corporate growth, DataSynapse appointed Mark Mszanski to executive vice president of global field operations. Mszanski joins DataSynapse from BEA Systems, Inc. where he was vice president and general manager of the Eastern United States operations.
