Specific Description: BS degree in an information technology related discipline. Experience in a high performance computing (HPC) environment is preferred. Security experience. Knowledge of UNIX operating systems security features and associated system security processes is required. This posting is made to support the MSRC project. Position applies current computer science technologies to the design, development, evaluation, and integration of computer systems and networks to maintain system security integrity. Communicates with commercial computer product vendors in the evaluation and integration of state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. Provides security engineering and integration services to customers. Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis techniques for system security assessments in accord with DOD requirements. Specific responsibilities include: Ensures HPC computational and support systems meet NAVOCEANO and DoD system security configuration requirements. Provide systems security administration for software support and technology assessment. Assist systems personnel in providing security integrity of HPC systems including assistance to User Support as required. Responsible for Security systems enhancement, including incremental design/functional element configuration, interfaces, and prototyping. Responsible for development of H/W and S/W security maintenance procedures, documentation and acceptance testing of security systems and subsystems. Performs systems security auditing to ensure security integrity limiting access to only authorized users. Prepares system accreditation and certification documentation in accordance with DoD DITSCAP standards. Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research. May prepare security reports to regulatory agencies such as Departments of Defense or Energy. Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
