COMSOL Expands with New Office in the Benelux Region

COMSOL, developer of the FEMLAB mathematical-modeling and simulation software, has announced the opening of a new office in the Benelux region to market, sell and support that industry-leading scientific-software package. At the same time, the company is pleased to announce that Mr. Gerard Hegemans has accepted a position as the managing director of COMSOL BV. A native of The Netherlands, Mr. Hegemans brings two decades of experience in finite-element modeling as a user and in sales management. He earned his MSc in aeronautical engineering at the Delft University of Technology; he then worked for Fokker Aircraft Co designing satellite components and at MARC Analysis Research Corp doing tech support and sales management. His most recent accomplishment prior to joining COMSOL was to set up an office in the Benelux for The MathWorks and run it for eight years. The decision to establish an office in The Netherlands comes as a result of the significant success COMSOL has enjoyed in this region as scientists and engineers in all branches of research, industry and education discover the benefits of FEMLAB for the mathematical simulation of virtually any physical process. Comments Hegemans, “COMSOL has been astounded by sales growth in Belgium and The Netherlands for the past several years. It started with academic customers, such as universities in Leuven, Delft and Eindhoven, all of whom have integrated FEMLAB into their curricula. Now we’re attracting considerable commercial attention, especially in the areas of chemical engineering and microelectromechanical systems.” The exact location and contact information for this new office are: COMSOL BV Röntgenlaan 19 2719 DX Zoetermeer The Netherlands Phone: +31 (0) 79 363 4230 Fax: +31 (0) 79 361 4212 Email: info-nl@comsol.com
