Concurrent Signs Value-Added Reseller Agreement with The MathWorks, Inc.

Concurrent Computer Corporation, Integrated Solutions Division, today announced it has signed a value-added reseller agreement with The MathWorks, Inc. Concurrent has teamed with The MathWorks, the leading provider of technical computing and model-based design software, to deliver a comprehensive, integrated platform for complex simulation, rapid prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop testing. The reseller agreement leverages the strengths of both companies' products. Concurrent iHawk(TM) systems are high-performance Xeon and Opteron-based multiprocessors that run Concurrent's RedHawk(TM) Linux(R), a real-time version of the open source Linux operating system. Concurrent iHawk customers can now purchase the primary MathWorks products for Model-Based Design - MATLAB(R), Simulink(R), Stateflow(R), and Real-Time Workshop(R) - directly from Concurrent with their iHawk systems. MATLAB includes mathematical functions, visualization and a powerful language to provide a flexible environment for technical computing. MATLAB makes it easy to explore data, create algorithms and create custom tools. Simulink is an interactive tool for modeling, simulating and analyzing dynamic, multi-domain systems. Simulink allows a user to accurately describe, simulate, evaluate and refine a system's behavior through standard and custom block libraries. Using the Real-Time Workshop product, code can be automatically generated from Simulink models for use in Concurrent's iHawk real-time systems. MATLAB and Simulink are used in a wide range of applications including control systems design, digital signal processing, communications, test and measurement, and image processing. For complex modeling applications, Concurrent offers its optional RT-LAB RLX software environment, which allows users to easily set up and execute multiprocessor simulation, rapid prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop testing. The Simulink, Stateflow and Real-Time Workshop products now work directly with RT-LAB RLX to provide a powerful, fully-integrated solution for distributed, multiprocessor, multi-rate simulation. The flexibility of RT-LAB RLX integrated with MathWorks products can be applied to the most complex simulation and control problems, dramatically speeding up test system implementation and reducing costs. Concurrent's RT-LAB RLX is fully integrated with Simulink and enables real-time execution of dynamic system and mathematical models on one or more distributed targets. RT-LAB RLX automatically prepares models for real-time execution. Using a simple six-step GUI, engineers can select a Simulink model, assign subsystems to specific target nodes, transparently perform code compilation, establish inter-node communications, and assign signal I/O. RT-LAB RLX provides a special blockset for Simulink to prepare the model for distributed processing, inter-node communication, and signal I/O. Once a model has been prepared, RT-LAB RLX uses Real-Time Workshop to convert separated components into C code for compilation on each target processor. RT-LAB RLX also fully supports the MathWorks Stateflow product in this process.
