Call for TCPP Chair Nominations

The IEEE Computer Society's Technical Committee on Parallel Processing (TCPP) is seeking nominations for TCPP Chair for the Jan 1, 2014 to Dec 31, 2015 term. Nominations are due by Aug 31, 2013. The nominations committee will select a slate of at least two candidates from these nominations by Sept 15.

Additional nominations may be made by petition, endorsed by at least thirty-five (35) TCPP members eligible to vote, received by the nominations committee chair on or before Sept 15.  A petition begins by the candidate notifying the nominations committee chair of an intent to run.  Recognizing the distributed nature of the TCPP membership, members may join a petition for nomination individually before the deadline by a communication that can be validated.  No distinction will be made on the ballot between candidates nominated by committee or petition.

The candidates' position statements and biographies, along with an electronic ballot, will be circulated on tcpp-announce@computer.org mailing list by Oct 1. The deadline for receipt of ballots is Nov 1.  To vote for the TCPP Chair, a TCPP member must be eligible to vote for the members of Board of Governors of the IEEE-CS.

Eligibility: The nominee must be a member of the IEEE Computer Society in good standing. To submit a nomination or self-nomination, please send the candidate's name and contact information to Sushil Prasad (sprasad at gsu.edu).

The nominations committee consists of the following members.

  • Sushil Prasad (Georgia State University),
  • Viktor Prasanna (University of Southern California),
  • Jose Rolim (University of Geneva),
  • Arnold Rosenberg (Northeastern University), and
  • Albert Zomaya (University of Sydney)
