Barcelona supercomputing Selects Totalview

BSC Provides TotalView for the Spanish Supercomputing Network

TotalView Technologies announced today that its TotalView debugger has been adopted by Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) for use across The Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES, Red Española de Supercomputación). The debugger will be available to scientists, engineers, and developers in order to help speed software development

“Supercomputing is essential to the success of science and industry, so we need to stay ahead of the curve to remain competitive,” said Sergi Girona, Operations Director of BSC. “At BSC, we are committed to working with the most advanced supercomputing platforms and tools both for our users here in Spain as well as those across Europe. The TotalView debugger will enable us to capitalize on these advanced platforms to develop the next generation of innovative, high-quality software applications.”

BSC selected the TotalView debugger for its unparalleled power, ease of use, and scalability. TotalView was designed from the ground up to handle the complexities of the world’s most demanding multi-processing applications that scale to thousands of processes and threads with applications distributed over multiple machines or processors. TotalView offers many advanced features, including multi-language support and built-in source code and memory debugging capabilities, which streamline and simplify the development process.

“Scientists, engineers, and developers on The Spanish Supercomputing Network will be helping Spain to maintain and extend its expertise in computational science,” said Rich Collier, President and CEO of TotalView Technologies. “This will continue to bring competitive advantages for Spain; we are pleased this prestigious group of scientists will have access to the TotalView debugger for their development work.”
