Andreas Bechtolsheim of Arista Networks to Keynote at ISC’09

Arista Networks today announced that Chief Development Officer Andreas (Andy) Bechtolsheim will give the opening keynote at the International Supercomputing Conference (ISC’09), the largest European HPC event, to be held June 23-26 in Hamburg, Germany. Arista Networks will also be showcasing the Arista 7100 series of data center switches in booth #241.

Andy Bechtolsheim’s keynote will focus on trends in the High Performance Computation market, including Cloud Networking, the challenge of building large fabrics, and the role of Infiniband and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. He will also address the challenges of building, integrating, and using petascale systems including system power and cooling, system stability, and scalability. Finally, he will look at the impact of Solid State Memory for HPC deployments and how it can address data bandwidth within the system to deliver improved overall performance through a more balanced system architecture.

Industry Leading Performance, Scalability, and High Availability

The Arista 7100 series of data center switches feature the industry's highest density 10 Gigabit Ethernet switching solution and the first with an extensible modular network operating system (EOS). With breakthrough price-performance, the Arista 7100 switches enable 10 Gigabit Ethernet to be deployed everywhere in the data center, significantly improving server utilization and data center power efficiency. With Arista 7100 switches and 10GBASE-T adapters from companies such as Intel, high-speed server connectivity once reserved for costly, proprietary technologies such as High Performance Computing (HPC) clusters and grid-based computing can now be achieved with standardized connectivity options in data centers of all sizes.
