Savvis, Global Provider of Outsourced IT Infrastructure Services, Recognized for Cloud Computing and SaaS Delivery

3PAR announced today that 3PAR customer Savvis, Inc., was chosen byTHINKstrategies, Inc., as the first managed services provider to win the Best of SaaS Showplace (BoSS) award. Savvis was chosen for the award based on the service provider’s use of virtualization, cloud computing, and support process automation in delivering IT Infrastructure- and Software-as-a-Service on a global scale. A 3PAR customer since 2004, Savvis has built a virtualized utility service delivery infrastructure that relies on highly virtualized 3PAR Utility Storage. To date, Savvis has deployed more than 31 3PAR InServ Storage Servers throughout its 28 datacenters around the globe for a total of 2.6 petabytes of 3PAR Utility Storage.

The BoSS award received by Savvis follows on the recent introduction of the new Savvis Cloud Compute service, a virtual datacenter hosting and private cloud computing offering from Savvis that allows enterprises to cut costs without sacrificing security or performance. Savvis Cloud Compute is the first in a series of new, integrated, value-added IT cloud technology offerings that Savvis has announced for rollout in 2009.
