Paradigm Houston office fully operational after Hurricane Ike
Support and Training Center helping Gulf of Mexico customer operations get back online: Paradigm, a leading provider of enterprise software solutions to the global oil and natural gas exploration and production (E&P) industry, reports that its US headquarters office in Houston, TX, at Gessner is open and fully operational to support and train customers as they reengage operations in the Gulf of Mexico, after the passage of Hurricane Ike. "Paradigm has rigorous plans for situations such as this, with an equal focus on employee safety and customers' needs," said Clay Miller, chief information officer for Paradigm. "Power was fully restored to the Gessner facility on Monday, and Business Computer Systems and Infrastructure were brought back up immediately, with full-staff present on Tuesday continuing business as usual to support our global customers." Anticipating Hurricane Ike, Paradigm systematically backed up and shut down operations in the office, protecting customer data and projects. As of 9:00AM Tuesday, September 16, 2008, Paradigm's Gessner operations were fully functional again. The distributed nature of Paradigm's data centers from Calgary to Kuala Lumpur made the shutdown and restart possible with minimal effort and no loss. "The hurricane did extensive damage to the area, and shut down exploration and production operations for many of our customers," said James Lamb, regional vice president for US Operations at Paradigm. "Operations in our office have completely resumed, sustaining only minimal down time, and Paradigm is ready to help its customers get back online and to capacity."
