Arrow NAC teams with Platform Computing to provide multivendor server solutions
The North American Components (NAC) business of Arrow Electronics and Platform Computing will provide customers high-performance, multivendor, cluster server solutions that meet Intel Cluster Ready Certification requirements.
"Arrow NAC is pleased to collaborate with Platform Computing to provide small- to mid-sized enterprises with preconfigured and pre-integrated cluster- server appliances that can be rapidly deployed and scaled for improved performance," said Robert Balson, director, business development, Arrow NAC. "These systems make it possible for businesses to access supercomputing solutions without the added design expense and time often associated with such projects." Arrow NAC will be using Platform Open Cluster Stack (OCS), a pre- integrated, vendor-certified software stack that enables the consistent delivery of Linux-application clusters. Platform OCS also provides a user- friendly interface geared for enterprises that are new to high-performance cluster data center solutions. These solutions, based on Platform OCS, are certified as Intel Cluster Ready, a certification program designed to simplify the development, purchase, deployment, usage and management of clustered computer systems. "Platform Computing welcomes the opportunity to work closely with Arrow NAC to design cluster systems that can reduce overall costs and assure scalability and stability as the customer's cluster grows," said Simon Lonsdale, director of Strategic Alliances, Platform Computing. "Platform OCS is the first commercial software system to create certified Intel Cluster Ready systems, pre-engineered and tested for optimal simplicity and performance."
