Dr. Giora Yaron To Speak At Harvard Technology Symposium
Dr. Giora Yaron, chairman of Exanet, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance, award-winning, clustered NAS grid storage solutions, will be a featured speaker at Harvard Business School’s CyberPosium technology conference taking place on January 28-29. Harvard Business School has invited Dr. Yaron to participate in the panel discussion, “Now What's Next? Emerging Trends within Storage Software,” which will cover the future drivers of the storage software industry, including its recent M&A activity. The discussion will take place at 5:15 p.m., Saturday, January 29, on the Harvard Business School campus. “Speaking to the Harvard Business School students allows me to present to the next generation of business leaders how having an efficient storage infrastructure can really affect an organization’s bottom line,” Dr. Yaron said. “I am honored to have been invited to join this forum of the other leading members of the storage industry.” Dr. Yaron will be joined on the panel by Steve Duplessie of the Enterprise Strategy Group, Mike Speiser of VERITAS, Yuval Neeman of Microsoft, and Chris Gahagan of EMC. The panelists are expected to discuss how rapid technological advancement is significantly affecting the way business is done. They will cover how the ability to use technology well can lead to strong competitive advantage for a company. “In addition to our recent award from Storage magazine, having Exanet recognized by Harvard as a critical force in today’s storage market reinforces how both our technology and our sales methods are superior in the marketplace,” Dr. Yaron added. Over the past few years, Dr. Yaron has co-founded five internationally based start-ups: Exanet Inc., focused on developing hardware-independent storage software solutions; Comsys Communication and Signal Processing Ltd., focused on 3G modems for Broadband Wireless Internet Access; and Itamar Medical Ltd. focused on a medical signaling; P-Cube Inc., focused on content-based switching for smart networks; and PentaCom Ltd., focused on SRP based products. Dr. Yaron currently serves as chairman of the boards of Exanet, Comsys, and Itamar and is actively involved in strategic planning and business development. He sold both PentaCom and P-Cube to Cisco. Prior to his current activities Dr. Yaron lead Indigo NV to a more than billion-dollar IPO.
