Dr. Robert H. Leary appointed as Principal Software Engineer
Pharsight Corporation, a leading provider of software and strategic services designed to optimize clinical drug development, today announced that Robert Leary Ph.D., a former Senior Staff Scientist at the University of California in San Diego, has joined the Company as a Principal Software Engineer in the software development division. Dr. Leary will be a senior member of the modeling and simulation engine development team, and will report to Tony Chang, the Senior Director of Software Development. From 1985 to 2004, Dr. Leary served as a Senior Staff Scientist at the San Diego Supercomputer Center at the University of California at San Diego where he focused on computational and theoretical methods used in mathematical modeling, simulation and optimization. Prior to this, from 1974 to 1985, Dr. Leary was employed by General Atomics, a leading developer of high technology systems located in La Jolla, California where he initially held the post of Staff Engineer and eventually was appointed as the Manager of Computer Applications. Dr. Leary earned a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Operations Research from Stanford University, as well as an A.B. in Chemistry and Physics from Harvard University. He is the author of numerous articles and presentations, including many focusing on pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modeling, as well as an editor and/or reviewer for a number of biomedical, general scientific, and computer-related journals.
