Dot Hill & Aspen Systems To Showcase Server Clusters And Storage At SC2003

Dot Hill and Aspen Systems will exhibit high performance computing (HPC) solutions at the Supercomputing (SC) 2003 conference at the Phoenix Civic Plaza Convention Center, November 15-21. Aspen Systems will be exhibiting its Beowulf Linux clustering solutions and showcasing Dot Hill’s SANnet II storage systems in booth 1513. “We are pleased to partner with Dot Hill to offer our customers a rugged, reliable storage component for our Beowulf clustering solutions,” said Tom Leinberger, vice president of sales for Aspen Systems. “Through our partnership with Dot Hill, we can now provide customers with 24x7x365 customer support for the storage system component of our solutions.” A Beowulf cluster can be defined in the broadest sense as any number of systems whose collective processing capabilities are simultaneously applied to a specific technical, scientific or business application. Aspen Systems provides a total Beowulf cluster solution with cluster management software, online configurations and unprecedented support. An Aspen Systems custom Beowulf cluster delivers supercomputing performance at an affordable price. Aspen Systems Beowulf clusters enable users to access significantly more processing power when compared to today’s very expensive supercomputers while providing a greater value for technology investments. “The SANnet II product line is a good fit for Aspen Systems’ Linux-based clustering solutions and its compute-intensive customer base,” said Omar Barraza, Dot Hill’s director of marketing. “Our storage systems will integrate seamlessly into the Beowulf solutions and bring a higher level of reliability to the storage repository for the cluster than previously available.” The SANnet II family of storage systems provides industry-leading 99.9998+ percent uptime in a compact, rugged enclosure. SANnet II brings enterprise class features into the workgroup and virtually eliminates downtime with no single point of failure. The common modular architecture of the SANnet II product family provides seamless scalability for future growth. All SANnet II products feature hot-swappable, field-replaceable components including drives, controllers, power supplies, fans and event monitoring units. This product line meets MIL-STD- 810F standards for the U.S. Department of Defense and is certified to the telecommunications industry NEBS Level 3 standard.
