Dot Hill Announces OEM Agreement with Kyocera Communications Systems, Expanding Footprint in Asia Pacific
Industry leader’s subsidiary signs on to offer Dot Hill’s next generation iSCSI solutions
Dot Hill Systems today announced it has entered into an OEM agreement with Kyocera Communication Systems Co., Ltd. (KCCS), Kyocera’s information technology subsidiary. Under the terms of the agreement KCCS will use Dot Hill RAID storage solutions, based on the R/Evolution architecture, for its data center service.
“We selected Dot Hill for the platform of the coming cloud business, as it can satisfy the various demands for storage systems such as expandability, flexibility and cost performance,” said Hirokazu Tachiki, deputy division manager, Strategic Purchasing Group, KCCS. “We are also excited about their product roadmap.”
“KCCS is a globally recognized brand and will be a great representative of Dot Hill’s innovative storage technology,” said Andy Mills, vice president of marketing, Dot Hill. “KCCC customers will benefit from Dot Hill’s strong performance as well as its environmentally friendly EcoStor battery-free cache backup and RAIDar 2.0 user interface. These attributes help make Dot Hill products an ideal platform to support I/O-intensive applications such as transaction processing, business analysis and reporting.”
KCCS customers will also have the ability to take advantage of Dot Hill's AssuredCopy volume copy and AssuredSnap snapshot software, which help solve many of today's data management challenges by providing support for business continuance, disaster recovery and regulatory compliance. Dot Hill’s volume copy software, AssuredCopy, provides the ability to create full volume copies or backups of disk volumes with the ability to quickly restore whole volumes, folders or individual files. AssuredSnap, Dot Hill’s snapshot feature, provides the ability to create up to 256 point-in-time copies or backups of disk volumes with instant restoration of data to any captured (snapshot) point in time.
Dot Hill R/Evolution Architecture Provides Competitive Advantage for OEMs
Dot Hill next generation RAID arrays are based on the highly modular, highly dynamic Dot Hill R/Evolution Architecture, which is designed to rapidly evolve and support OEM technology and enable OEMs to quickly achieve sustainable, competitive advantage in the volume storage market.
The R/Evolution Architecture delivers high levels of performance, storage density, time-to-market leadership and configuration flexibility. Using modular and bladed components, the R/Evolution Architecture provides OEMs with a "configure-to-product" model supporting both product differentiation and rapid time-to-market for volume storage solutions.
