CSC Names Bob Birmingham Vice President of Army Programs, Southeast Region

Computer Sciences Corporation announced today that Bob Birmingham has been named vice president of Southeast U.S. Army Programs, a business area within the Defense Integrated Solutions and Services Division (DISSD) of CSC's Federal Sector business unit. In this new position, Birmingham is responsible for managing CSC's Army aviation and missile programs and developing new business opportunities with the U.S. Army throughout the Southeast region and its surrounding areas. Army programs served by CSC in the Southeast region include the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal and operations at Fort Rucker, Ala., as well as CSC's High Performance Computing Center of Excellence in Huntsville, Ala. "We look forward to expanding our business opportunities in the Southeast with the help of Bob's strategic planning and leadership," said Jim McCoy, president of DISSD. "His aptitude for understanding and meeting the needs of our Army clients, as well as his aviation experience, will strengthen our business activities in the region." For the past year, Birmingham has helped to develop Army aviation business for CSC and is part of the company's management team for the $1.1 billion Flight School XXI contract, announced in September 2003. Birmingham also represents CSC as an industry consultant to the Army Science Board and as chapter president and national executive board member for the U.S. Army Aviation Association of America. Prior to joining CSC, Birmingham served on active duty as a senior Department of Defense acquisition manager and Army aviator. In addition to numerous aviation, logistics and acquisition command and staff positions, Birmingham was project manager for the U.S. Army Aviation Systems organization.
