Computer Sciences Corporation announced today that it has won a task order to provide a broad range of information technology (IT) services to NASA's John C. Stennis Space Center. The task order, which has one base year and four one-year options, is valued at $93 million if all options are exercised. The agreement was awarded under the GSA Millennia contract. Under the task order, CSC will provide the Stennis Space Center with comprehensive program management and IT support functions such as help desk, data center management and network maintenance. In addition, CSC and its team of subcontractors will support modeling, simulation and remote sensing activities. The team will also provide specialized technical support to other agencies located at the space center. "CSC has a longstanding relationship with NASA Stennis and we are delighted to have been selected for this program," said Tom Anderson, president of CSC's Information Technology and Science Solutions organization. "This agreement will allow us to apply our leadership and experience in delivering IT solutions to meet the specific requirements of the center's important propulsion test programs." Teaming with CSC are Science and System Applications Inc. of Lanham, Md., which will support the collection and dissemination of Earth Science Applications data; SaiTech of Fairfax, Va., which will provide records management and documentation control; and Sierra Lobo Inc. of Fremont, Ohio, which will support the modeling and prototype development operation at Stennis. The John C. Stennis Space Center, located near Bay St. Louis, Miss., is NASA's program manager for rocket propulsion testing and for Earth Science Applications. The center is NASA's primary location for testing and flight-certifying rocket propulsion systems for the space shuttle and future generations of space vehicles.
