CSC Awarded Six-Year Distributed Computing Services Contract From Boeing

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Computer Sciences Corporation, a leading global information technology (IT) services firm, announced today that the company has been awarded a six-year contract with a potential value of $60 million by The Boeing Company to provide distributed server support services for Integrated Defense Systems line-of-business operations at nine sites across the United States. The agreement follows the recent August 12 award of a six-year, $90 million contract from Boeing to CSC for mainframe computing services to sites served by a data center in St. Louis. "This award further solidifies CSC's position as the leading IT services provider to the global aerospace and defense market," said CSC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Van B. Honeycutt. "Additionally, it advances the significant existing relationship between Boeing and CSC, which is characterized by results-driven teaming for program delivery in the U.S. government marketplace as well as our support for Boeing's internal IT services." Under the new agreement, CSC will deliver distributed computing and storage services in support of Boeing's Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business unit, one of the world's largest defense and space businesses. Approximately 100 Boeing employees located at facilities in Southern California; St Louis, Mo.; Huntsville, Ala.; Philadelphia, Pa.; and Mesa, Az. are expected to transfer to CSC. "We chose CSC after a very thorough assessment, as these distributed servers process many of our mission-critical applications," said Don Imholz, vice president of Information Technology for Boeing Integrated Defense Systems. This announcement brings CSC's total fiscal 2004 awards announced in the second quarter to $3.437 billion. To date this fiscal year, CSC has announced a total of $7.755 billion in new awards.
