CSC Awarded $75 Million Air Force Space Command Pact

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Computer Sciences Corporation has won a task order with the U.S. Air Force Space Command to provide information technology (IT) services in support of missile defense and other space-related missions. The task order, which has a one- year base period and four one-year options, is valued at $75 million if all options are exercised. The order was awarded by the General Services Administration's Federal Technology Service Office through its Information Technology Solutions contract. Under the agreement, CSC will provide operations and maintenance, help desk and engineering support for enterprise networks supported by the command's Directorate of Command, Control, Communications and Computers. CSC's support will include computer systems engineering, information management and network control center operations in support of Air Force Space Command, United States Space Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). "CSC is committed to continued support of critical space and missile defense missions through the provision of quality IT support," said William Donahue, vice president and general manager of CSC's Aerospace support operation. "CSC is pleased to bring the breadth of our technical experience with enterprise networks to such vital national defense missions." Approximately 35 engineers and technical staff from CSC's Defense Group are expected to carry out the work in the Colorado Springs, Colo. area. Joining CSC in this effort are Titan Corporation of San Diego, Calif., and Science Applications International Corporation of San Diego, Calif. The Air Force Space Command was formed in 1982 to defend America through space and intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) operations. It provides infrastructure support for its own space operations as well as support for United States Space Command and NORAD.
