Emulex Corporation, the industry's preeminent source for a broad range of advanced storage networking infrastructure solutions, today announced that its LightPulse LP10000 and dual channel LP10000DC Fibre Channel HBAs have been certified by HP for use in HP-UX 11i v2 operating system environments. The Emulex LP10000 and LP10000DC HBAs are now certified by HP for use in both the HP-UX 11i v1 (on HP 9000 PA-RISC based platforms) and HP-UX 11i v2 (on HP Integrity platforms) operating environments to provide high performance and reliable connectivity within HP server and storage environments. HP-UX 11i v2 is the newest version of HP-UX 11i and is a full-fledged enterprise release of HP-UX 11i, complete with the broad range of HP manageability and availability essential for enterprise deployments. "Certification of the Emulex LP10000 and LP10000DC HBAs ensures a robust and compatible connectivity solution for the HP Integrity family of servers," said Mike Smith, executive vice president of worldwide marketing at Emulex. Emulex HBAs and drivers are also tested with HP Serviceguard, the HP high-availability clustering solution. The combination of Emulex HBAs with HP Serviceguard rapid failover solution ensures state-of-the-art service level protection. The Emulex host bus adapter HP-UX driver contributes to the superior quality of service of the HP-UX enterprise environment by supporting two important capabilities: -- On-Line Addition/Replacement (OLA/R) -- provides the capability to add or swap host bus adapters without interrupting production operation or shutting down the server -- Dynamically Loadable Kernel Module (DLKM) -- allows the administrator to add or remove the device driver in the course of production operation, enabling dynamic parameter changes and optimizing memory utilization based on server configuration changes Emulex LP10000 and LP10000DC HBAs are certified for HP-UX 11i v2 environments with the following Intel Itanium 2-based HP Integrity servers: HP Server rx8620, rx7620, rx5670, rx4640, rx2600 and rx1600. Additionally, the LP10000 and LP10000DC are certified for HP-UX 11i with the following PA-RISC-based servers: HP Superdome, HP Server rp8420, rp8400, rp7420, rp7410, rp7400, rp5400 and rp2400 series.
