Absoft Announces Pro Fortran Compiler Suite 9.0 for Windows
Absoft Corporation has announced immediate availability of its new high performance Pro Fortran tool kit version 9.0 for Windows. Absoft’s Pro Fortran Compiler Suite is the most complete Windows Fortran solution available from any vendor and includes: Fortran 95 and C/C++ compilers, a powerful Integrated Development Environment, Fx2 the top commercial Fortran debugger, graphics and free product support. The new Absoft Pro Fortran compiler suite version 9.0 for Windows generates superior 32-bit application performance on IA32/AMD32 processors including Intel P4, Intel Xeon and AMD Athlon chips. Absoft Pro Fortran v9.0 is fully compatible with Microsoft Windows 98 through Windows 2000 and also supports .NET. Absoft’s powerful and flexible Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is included at no additional charge. The Absoft IDE is a stand-alone tool suite providing graphical interfaces for multiple compilers and third party tools and libraries (VAST, IMSL, 2D/3D graphics, LAPACK90). IMSL Fortran Numerical Libraries v5.0, MATFOR visualization libraries and VAST auto-parallelization tools are optionally available with Pro Fortran v9.0 for Windows. Pro Fortran v9.0 is available in the Standard Edition for single processor machines or in the Parallel Edition as Pro FortranMP v9.0 for dual processor systems. Pro FortranMP (for Multi-Processing) includes everything in the Standard Edition plus a thread-safe runtime library and a "lite" version of VAST-F/Parallel, an application pre-processor which automatically restructures code written for single processors so that it executes on dual processor systems for maximum performance. “Pro Fortran v9.0 for Windows is Absoft’s best release for Windows to date” said Wood Lotz, President of Absoft. “This release includes across-the-board improvements for all components – the compiler includes new Fortran 2003 features and generates code which is up to 25% faster than the previous release. Fx2, the market leading Fortran debugger, is also included with many improvements over its predecessor, Fx.” “Absoft leads the industry in price/performance solutions with fast, reliable compilers, flexible licensing policies, powerful debugging and development tools, and free technical support,” continued Lotz. “Absoft is the only company offering source-compatible Fortran compilers for all of today’s leading computing platforms including Windows, OS X, and Linux. This compatibility is important for users such as universities and labs who work in multiple environments,” added Lotz. “Absoft’s unique ability to offer a common solution across multiple platforms, while providing superior performance, reliability, diagnostics, and free technical support make Absoft products the most attractive solutions for customers who need to migrate existing applications between different scalar systems or to high-performance computing environments such as small, medium, or large clusters.” Absoft’s Pro Fortran Compiler Suite v9.0 for Windows is now available to commercial and government customers for $699. Academic licenses start at $299. Special pricing is available for floating licenses, upgrades, and volume purchases.
