Engenio Adds New Dimension to Verari Systems Product Line
Engenio Information Technologies, Inc., formerly LSI Logic Storage Systems, Inc., a leader in delivering technology that enables high performance, highly scalable storage for the open enterprise, and Verari Systems, Inc., a premier developer of powerful, platform-independent blade computing systems, have entered into an OEM agreement in which Verari Systems will co-brand and sell Engenio's complete line of Fibre Channel and Serial ATA (SATA) storage subsystems. "The partnership with Engenio will further enable Verari Systems to deliver high performance computing storage solutions to Fortune 1000 corporations, universities and research institutions around the world," said David Driggers, Verari Systems CEO. "We are committed to providing our customers with solutions that have extremely high performance at a low total cost of ownership." Verari Systems has designed and manufactured some of the most powerful high-density blade server clusters, rack-optimized servers and high-performance technical workstations in the world. Customers are able to lower their total cost of ownership because Verari Systems places large amounts of computing power into its blades, which reduces data center installation, power, cooling, and management costs. Engenio's SATA storage technology is ideal for meeting the specific workload, capacity and cost requirements of secondary storage. Its ability to cost-effectively store large amounts of information online for such uses as reference data, fixed content, disaster recovery and backup targets, brings tremendous value to the data center. The company's Fibre Channel storage systems offer high-speed, disk-based performance, flexibility, availability, manageability, compatibility, reliability and serviceability, along with all the features and functionality required by open systems environments. "Engenio's modular SATA and Fibre Channel storage technology is ideally suited for industries such as oil & gas, animation, corporations and higher education where lower cost of ownership, scalability and reliability are critical," said Dave Mooney, Engenio General Manager of Worldwide OEMs. "With the option of integrating modular storage with Verari Systems' high density blade computing systems, customers have an opportunity to achieve even greater return on their investment."
