ANSYS Debuts on FORTUNE Small Business 'Fastest-Growing' List

ANSYS, Inc., the global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced its inaugural appearance on the FORTUNE Small Business magazine's fourth annual list of the "100 Fastest-Growing Small Companies in America." Ranking number 55, ANSYS is the only Western Pennsylvania company and one of merely 10 tech firms to make the list. According to Josh Hyatt, executive editor at FORTUNE Small Business magazine, last year's list ranked just two tech firms, claiming that technology is making a comeback. "It's a great honor to be recognized as a leader, but also to be the only computer-aided engineering software company on the FORTUNE Small Business annual listing. That recognition confirms our leadership and growth position in the industry," said Jim Cashman, president and CEO at ANSYS, Inc. "Our inclusion in this distinguished set of companies demonstrates the importance of executing on our long-term vision despite macroeconomic and competitive market issues that can distract focus." To compile the list, FORTUNE Small Business asked financial research firm Zacks to screen annual reports for public companies with annual revenue of less than $200 million and a stock price of more than $1. Within that group, companies were ranked based on earnings growth, revenue growth and stock performance over the past three years. The list of 100 Fastest-Growing Small Companies in America will be featured in the July/August issue of FORTUNE Small Business available on newsstands July 5 and at http://www.fsb.com/ .
