Molecular Mining Announces New Releases of GeneLinker Software

CAMBRIDGE, MA -- Molecular Mining Corporation (MMC) today announced the release of GeneLinker(TM) Gold version 2.5 and GeneLinker(TM) Platinum version 1.2 Gene Expression Analysis Software. The new releases add several exciting features to both of the current GeneLinker offerings. Usability enhancements include improved progress monitoring and cancel features, "color by" sample class or gene list, improved dendrogram node selection and improved handling of gene lists. Analytical enhancements include scriptable data import for Affymetrix and other data types, replicate handling, confidence level import and filtering by confidence level and mean and median scaling and normalization. "These enhancements have been the top requests from our fast-growing user base," said Evan Steeg, Ph.D., founder, President and CEO of Molecular Mining Corporation. "Our software architecture and development stream allows us to release these features simultaneously at different points in the product line. This benefits all our users by keeping the program interface and workflows nearly identical across the GeneLinker family. When a GeneLinker Gold user decides it is time to upgrade to Platinum, the learning curve is very short because the look, feel and workflows are so close to one another." GeneLinker(TM) Gold is ideal for users who need a gene expression analysis tool that is intuitively easy to use, comprehensive, and affordable. It offers a powerful set of analysis and visualization tools for the exploration of gene expression data. GeneLinker(TM) Gold Version 2.5 is the third major release of the product since its introduction last year. GeneLinker(TM) Platinum allows the user to do more than merely visualize and explore data. GeneLinker(TM) Platinum provides an efficient way to discover and characterize higher-order correlations among objects in a multidimensional dataset. These objects may represent genes and toxicological response outcomes, or they may be chemical descriptors and binding assays. This technique, tied to a powerful machine learning protocol, allows users to take data analysis to the next level: in silico inference and prediction. GeneLinker Platinum version 1.2 comes less than 4 months after the release of version 1.0. "Our users are getting the benefit of frequent new version releases, which come free of charge for the first year after purchasing one of our licenses," Steeg added. Molecular Mining Corporation specializes in the exploration, inference and prediction of molecular networks derived from gene expression, proteomics and SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) data, and the application of these network models to diagnostic and drug target identification, predictive toxicology and drug screening.
