MSC.Software Announces New Release of MSC.visualNastran 4D
SANTA ANA, CA -- MSC.Software Corporation (NYSE:MNS), the established information technology software and services provider helping companies worldwide develop better products faster, today announced the latest release of MSC.visualNastran 4D, a Windows(R)-based tool that sets three-dimensional assemblies into motion, animates the resulting stresses and allows users to measure the performance of their designs. Solidifying MSC's position as the leading motion platform for Windows computers, MSC.visualNastran 4D is available immediately through MSC.Software-certified value-added resellers, via monthly subscription to the online Simulation Center (www.simulationcenter.com) and on a weekly or monthly basis through MSC's OnDemand subscription service. "The latest version of MSC.visualNastran 4D is the only product that allows users to animate stresses based on design and motion," said Frank Perna, chairman and chief executive officer of MSC.Software. "With this new release, we can now address our customers' needs in several new markets, including the $100 million motion market and the $500 million control systems testing industry." MSC.visualNastran 4D is ideal for mechanical engineers that create designs with moving components because it allows users to verify designs with physics-based motion, run a preliminary stress analysis and even test control systems using the integration with MATLAB(R) and Simulink(R). By simulating assemblies in this virtual, physical environment, engineers will produce more creative, robust designs and reduce cycle time. "I rely on MSC's mechanical simulation desktop products to do my job. We assemble components with various levels of sophistication in our mechanical and electrical designs," said Tim Taylor, technical specialist, Ford Motor Company. "It is the ability of MSC.visualNastran desktop products to accurately and robustly simulate the performance of these systems that provides value for us. The value proposition is clear -- the speed and cost effectiveness of testing through simulation allows us to respond rapidly to the demands of our marketplace." This release of MSC.visualNastran 4D 2001 R2 incorporates updated integration for the latest versions of leading CAD products Autodesk Mechanical Desktop(R) and Autodesk Inventor, Parametric Technology Corporation Pro/ENGINEER(R), Unigraphics Solutions Solid Edge(TM) and SolidWorks(R), as well as support for virtually every CAD system through industry standard file formats.
