Platform, Microsoft discuss the cloud at Global ICT Summit
CEO Songnian Zhou to Discuss How Japanese Enterprises Can Leverage Private Cloud for Reduced IT Costs And Improved Enterprise IT Responsiveness
Platform Computing today announced that its CEO Songnian Zhou will speak at the Global ICT Summit in Tokyo, Japan on Monday, June 14, 2010.
Mr. Zhou will participate in a keynote panel discussion entitled, "New Trends in Cloud Computing Technology," alongside industry leaders from Amazon, Microsoft, and other large, global corporations. Mr. Zhou will provide a brief overview of Platform Computing's cloud strategy and vision and then discuss real-life success stories outlining best practices for phased planning and deployment of private cloud. The panel will be moderated by Waichi Sekiguchi, editorial writer for Nikkei Inc., Japan's most prestigious media organization, and will focus on the following three topics:
- How companies can improve their business processes, reduce infrastructure costs, and increase customer satisfaction by leveraging cloud technologies
- The issues that must be considered before taking advantage of cloud computing. What types of costs are expected? How can CIOs, executives and IT managers be prepared to handle the transition, especially with regard to the cultural shift in IT management that accompanies cloud computing?
- While cloud adoption has taken off in the U.S. consumer services market, how will it trend in the enterprise market? How can Japanese companies and ICT vendors best leverage these new technologies? What issues should be addressed by the Japanese Government to facilitate cloud technology adoption, especially with regard to deregulations?
