MSU appoints new director for Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research
MSU has appointed Kenneth Merz as the Joseph Zichis Endowed Chair in Chemistry and new director for the Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research.
His research is focused on the development of theoretical, computational and data-mining tools and their application to biological problems.
MSU’s ICER, which includes the High Performance Computing Center, provides faculty and students with sophisticated software and hardware for research projects.
Merz has previously worked both in industry and academia, and has received a number of honors for his work. He has a fellowship with the American Chemical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
