Arrive Early at ISC '08 for Preconference Programs - Register online by May 19
If you’re interested in how automakers use high performance computing to design the next generation of vehicles, in cutting-edge scientific discoveries made possible by large-scale applications, or in how to effectively operate a cluster computing center, then plan on arriving at the 2008 International Supercomputing Conference (ISC ’08) a day early. 
ISC '08, Europe's premier high performance computing event, will feature three one-day preconference programs: HPC Requirements for the Automotive Industry; Scientific Sessions I and II; and Efficient Operation of Clusters in Computing Centers. The pre-conference sessions will take place the afternoon of Tuesday, June 17, the day before the ISC technical program begins. The conference runs through June 20 at the International Congress Center in Dresden. All sessions are conducted in English. Participants can register for the preconference sessions and the technical program at http://www.isc.org/registration/. Advance registration ends May 19, and those who register by the deadline will receive a discount. “These preconference events are an important part of the overall conference experience and give people another reason to attend ISC '08,” said Conference Chair Prof. Hans Werner Meuer. “The sessions are a chance for them to focus in great detail on specific topics of interest. Attendees can talk informally with industry leaders, with scientific researchers from around the globe and with IT experts from some of the world's most respected technology firms.” The automotive session will focus on HPC trends in the automotive industry and on the crucial role played by HPC systems in helping automakers succeed in the increasingly competitive global market.
