AvarSYS Expands High Performance Computing Capabilities with Key Hires
Avarsys, Inc. has secured additional sales and technical expertise for the company’s High Performance Computing (HPC) solutions. The company added new staff to focus on solution sales, services and implementation for its cluster computing, grid computing and visualization solutions. These hires greatly expand the company’s reach into key markets, including Petroleum, Scientific and Engineering, Pharmaceutical, Finance and Government sectors. Scott Hunter, previously HPC Professional Services Manager for Linux Networx (LNXI), joins the Avarsys team. Hunter’s prior experience includes management positions with Parallel Systems; engineering, development and sales at Oracle; and developing high-end visualization and simulation systems for the defense and intelligence communities. Doug Harless joins AvarSYS specializing in HPC solutions for the Oil and Gas industry as well as Federal /Government sales. Formerly with LNXI, Harless has over 20 years experience in supercomputing and visualization solutions. Ron Blessing covered commercial enterprise sales for LNXI. His experience selling advanced enterprise computing solutions at Cray, SGI and Oracle adds commercial expertise to the Avarsys team. Nate Furhiman has joined Avarsys from LNXI where he was a Systems Engineer focused on developing and integrating Linux clusters. Furhiman brings extensive HPC systems, software and Operating System expertise. Philip Carroll, previously Federal Territory Sales Manager at Arrow ECS, an IBM Distributor, leads the IBM Partner Program at Avarsys. His experience in IBM solutions, government contracts and vendors rounds out the team working with Federal Agency customers, including DoD, DOE, DHS, HHS, IRS and more. H. West Richards heads up Business Development for Avarsys. Richards brings experience in building alliance partnerships to expand technology solutions offerings and accelerate market growth. Prior to joining Avarsys, he held senior management positions at K2, Anderson Business Consulting and PMG.net. Richards also spent seven years on Capitol Hill as a Congressional staffer where he held a Chief of Staff position.
