SIMtone Acquires ASPEED Software to Expand Performance of Cloud Computing
Kurt Ziegler, CEO of ASPEED Software, to Lead Newly Formed SIMtone High Performance Computing Division: SIMtone Corporation, a privately held company delivering the next virtual computing paradigm, today announced the acquisition of ASPEED Software, a leading provider of application acceleration and optimization solutions. The acquisition enables SIMtone to offer its customers with optimized scalability and performance on the server side of the cloud. Together with the company’s universal dialtone technology and virtual desktop platform, ASPEED’s patented technology adds a new dimension to scaling and optimally exploiting server and hardware platforms. It also improves the economics of virtualization platforms offered by VMware, Microsoft and XenSource. As part of the acquisition, Kurt Ziegler, CEO of ASPEED Software, will now serve as Executive Vice President of the company’s newly formed SIMtone High Performance Computing (HPC) division.
