Emulex Gains Market Share

Emulex Corporation today announced that it has achieved market share gains in its sale of Fibre Channel (FC) host bus adapter (HBA) and blade server HBA ports and in overall revenue market share, according to Dell'Oro Group's first quarter SAN Infrastructure market analysis report. Emulex has gained nearly five percentage points of FC HBA and blade server HBA ports over the last year and has gained three percentage points of revenue market share for the first quarter of 2007 over the same period last year. In addition, Emulex has more than tripled its FC mezzanine card port market share during just the last two quarters and now has over 15 percent market share. "These findings are no doubt attributable to our solid line-up of 4Gb/s design wins with all of the top-tier server and storage OEMs, most recently with IBM BladeCenter, HP Blade Server, IBM Series X and continued gains at Sun, which represent fast-growing market segments," said Mike Smith, executive vice president of worldwide marketing, Emulex Corp.
