Accelrys, a leading provider of molecular modeling and informatics software and services, today announced that Richard Murphy has joined the Company as its senior vice president of worldwide sales and services. "Rick is an experienced senior executive with exceptional strategic vision, tactical sales skills and proven leadership experience," said Accelrys' President and CEO, Mark Emkjer. "He has delivered outstanding results driving innovative technology solutions within multinational enterprise-level accounts. We feel he's the ideal person to lead our international sales and service teams, and that his addition bolsters an executive team that is poised to strengthen Accelrys' leadership position as a provider of solutions for research and development within the life and materials sciences industries." Mr. Murphy brings nearly 20 years of technical and executive-level sales and marketing experience to Accelrys, most recently as Sr. Vice President, General Manager, and Chief Sales Officer of MSC Software, a world leader in Mechanical Computer-Aided Engineering (MCAE) software and IT solutions. MSC provides simulation software and the associated consulting services required for large-scale customer implementations.
