Applications are invited for the post of a Research Fellow in the School of Engineering Sciences at University of Southampton, UK. The successful applicant will develop and use computer simulations of micromagnetic materials using the hybrid finite-element/boundary-element method. Applicants should have a PhD in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related discipline, and be competent in at least one programming language. Experience and knowledge of the following would be helpful but are not essential: Micromagnetic modelling Finite-element and boundary element methods The C and Python programming languages Design and implementation of large software projects Parallel programming using MPI Linux/Unix Visualisation Mesh generation The project will be performed in close collaboration with experimental groups to evaluate and apply and the simulations. The University of Southampton has a 500CPU High Performance Computing cluster which will be used for the computations.
