Oracle Helps Partners Get to the Grid

ORACLEWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO, To enable partners to adopt grid computing, Oracle Corp. (NASDAQ:ORCL) today announced the Oracle PartnerNetwork 10g Partner Initiative, which provides independent software vendors, system integrators, resellers, hardware and infrastructure vendors with the necessary tools to enable a phased adoption of grid computing using Oracle Database, Oracle Application Server and Oracle(R) Enterprise Manager 10g. Members of the Oracle PartnerNetwork that sign up for the Oracle 10g Partner Initiative will receive access to migration, integration, upgrade and porting kits, and other technical tools. Training roadmaps, technical webcasts and product assessment testing will also be available to educate partners, beginning with a two-day workshop dedicated to database administrators in partner organizations. In addition, the Oracle 10g Partner Initiative will provide the opportunity for partners to apply for the "Early Access for Partners" option. Partners selected for this option will receive Oracle Database 10g software and documentation four-to-six weeks earlier than the general partner population, providing a "first-to-market" opportunity. Once partners become technically enabled on Oracle 10g infrastructure software, they can access marketing and sales training, tools and kits that will assist them in delivering their product or service to the market place. Oracle10g beta partners and Oracle PartnerNetwork Certified-level partners will also be invited to participate in a variety of marketing activities with Oracle beginning at OracleWorld San Francisco 2003 and continuing through the phased roll out of Oracle Grid Computing. "As our products roll out, we will provide all the technical resources our partners require to fully leverage the power of Oracle 10g," said Julie Tung, vice president, Oracle PartnerNetwork. "Partners will find a repository of grid computing information and enablement tools to help them move step-by-step towards a grid computing architecture."
