AMD Opteron Processors Power New High-End Workstation

AMD today announced that Fujitsu Siemens Computers is offering the CELSIUS V810 high-end workstation based on the AMD Opteron processor 200 Series. The new workstation is targeted at customers who use compute-intensive applications such as digital content creation (DCC), computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided engineering (CAE), and scientific and visualization software. Workstations based on the AMD Opteron processor allow end users to run their existing 32-bit applications and provide an easy upgrade path to 64-bit computing when needed. The AMD Opteron processor can deliver the computing power and the large memory address space that is needed to move to the next level in professional workstation applications.
