ALTAIR ENGINEERING AND HP TO DELIVER SOLUTIONS

Altair Engineering Inc., a global leader in engineering, consulting and high performance computing technology, announced today a reseller agreement with HP. The agreement allows HP to resell Altair's PBS Pro(tm) distributed computing technology across its entire product line. In addition, the companies will continue to work together to optimize the performance of PBS Pro on HP hardware and deploy the integrated high performance technical computing solution within client computing environments. "The combination of HP's market leading computer systems and PBS Pro distributed resource management software provides a compelling value proposition for HPTC customers," said Michael Humphrey, vice president of Altair's Enterprise Computing unit. "HP systems based on Itanium 2 processors are rapidly gaining popularity and we have already enjoyed several early wins as a result of this new PBS Pro partnership and HP's innovative new products." Altair's PBS Pro Grid technology allows customers to increase their Return on Investment (ROI) of valuable hardware and software assets by creating a virtual resource pool and then intelligently scheduling computational workload across that virtual pool. Engineers and scientists who utilize PBS Pro are more productive because they can focus their attention on their analyses and are relieved of the need to remember various application and operating specific job control languages. "PBS/Pro continues to gain acceptance in our core high performance technical computing product (HPTC) market place," said Bruce Toal, Director of HPTC Marketing Solutions for HP. "We are pleased to offer our customers a workload management solution that provides excellent functionality and performance cost-effectively."
