AmmoCore Engineer to Receive Best Paper Award at DAC

Viktor Lapinskii, senior software engineer with AmmoCore Technology, Inc., will receive "Best Paper" honors for a paper that he co-wrote for the journal "ACM Transactions on Design Automation of Electronic Systems (TODAES)" as part of his dissertation while at the University of Texas. The award will be presented by Bob Walker, the ACM SIGDA chair, during the opening session of the Design Automation Conference. Lapinskii co-wrote the paper "Cluster Assignment for High-Performance Embedded VLIW Processors" with Margarida F. Jacome, associate professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, at the University of Texas at Austin, and Gustavo A. De Veciana, professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, at the University of Texas at Austin. At the 2000 International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (ICCAD), they were presented the IEEE Bill McCalla Best Paper Award for their paper, "Exploring Performance Tradeoffs for Clustered VLIW ASIPs." The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 8, at the Design Automation Conference in San Diego, California, at the San Diego Convention Center, Ballroom 20ABC, during the Opening Session. The Opening Session and Keynote begin at 8:30am.
