ArcGIS Deployed at Water and Electricity Authority
ESRI today announced the successful deployment of its ArcGIS software platform at Aqualectra b.v., the water and electricity authority of Curaçao in the Netherlands Antilles. Included in the ArcGIS installation are ArcSDE, ArcIMS, and ArcEditor. They will be used as the underlying architecture to build utility applications with AED-SICAD's ArcFM UT Editor and ArcFM UT Web. Aqualectra has selected the ArcGIS platform because of its open architecture, which will facilitate the integration of its existing management systems including customer information, work order management, asset management, billing, outage, and usage as well as various other systems such as its hydrological and electrical modeling into its new GIS. Working in conjunction with AED-SICAD's ArcFM UT, the new system will provide an enterprisewide solution for Aqualectra that enables data sharing and optimizes its network management. Data will be distributed via the company's Intranet systems. Comments Eric Sussenbach, manager of system development at ESRI Nederland b.v., "One of Aqualectra's business justifications for the system is to improve its productivity and provide better quality service through better asset management."
