MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- SGI (NYSE: SGI - news), today announced the appointment of Bill LaRosa as senior vice president of field operations for Asia-Pacific and Latin America. "Bill is an industry veteran with a successful track record of building strong field sales and service organizations in diverse geographies,'' said Bob Bishop, chairman and CEO. ``He brings the combination of regional expertise, leadership, and commitment to customers we need to accelerate our business momentum in these important geographies.'' LaRosa has more than 25 years of profit and loss management experience across multiple industries and geographies in the IT industry. His background includes more than nine years in worldwide sales and marketing executive positions with IBM, including assignments for the company's EMEA, Japan, Asia-Pacific and Latin America operations, and more than 16 years in international sales and service roles with General Electric. LaRosa will be based at SGI's headquarters in Mountain View, California.
