NVIDIA Creates High Performance Digital Content Creation Platform with HP
SANTA CLARA, CA -- NVIDIA(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) announced today that its Quadro(TM) DCC-based ELSA(R) GLoria(TM) DCC workstation graphics solution has been qualified as a Distinctive Product for integration into Hewlett Packard Company workstations via HP and ELSA channel partners, VARs and systems integrators. As a Distinctive-qualified product, the GLoria DCC has been tested by HP for compatibility and performance on HP workstations x2000 and x4000. By purchasing an HP system equipped with a NVIDIA Quadro DCC, graphics artists and 3D animators can edit Hollywood-style special effects in real time when using next-generation digital content creation (DCC) applications such as Discreet(R) 3ds max(TM) and Alias|Wavefront(R) Maya 4(TM). "NVIDIA, ELSA and HP are working together to deliver the ideal platform for digital content creation," said Jeff Fisher, executive vice president of worldwide sales at NVIDIA. "The ability to create an infinite number of special effects releases an artist's true creativity, but the ability to render those effects in real time is the key to increasing productivity." "The Quadro DCC workstation graphics solutions is a true breakthrough product for digital content creators," said Jeff Wood, product marketing manager, HP Technical Computing Division. "The inclusion of the QuadroDCC in the leadership graphics program provides digital artists cutting-edge performance optimized for their environment." The Quadro DCC is a revolutionary workstation graphics solution, featuring NVIDIA's nfiniteFX(TM) engine, which gives developers the ability to program a virtually infinite number of special effects and customs looks, and review the results instantaneously. Instead of forcing developers to choose from the same hard-coded palette of effects resulting in the same generic look and feel, artists can now specify personalized combinations of graphics operations to create their own custom effects while receiving feedback on the changes they have made in real time. The NVIDIA Quadro DCC is currently the only professional workstation graphics solution that fully enables next-generation professional DCC applications to exploit programmable vertex and pixel shaders.
