Goethe University Deploys Mellanox InfiniBand for New LOEWE-CSC supercomputer

40Gb/s InfiniBand with GPU and Application Offload Capabilities Provides University Scientists with Significant Application Runtime Improvements

Mellanox Technologies 40Gb/s InfiniBand connectivity products, including ConnectX-2 (LoM) adapters, IS5030 and IS5035 switches and cables, provide the high-performance server and storage networking for Goethe University’s Hessian high-performance computer (HHLR-GU) “LOEWE-CSC” supercomputer. With a theoretical peak performance of 599 TeraFLOPs, the InfiniBand-accelerated LOEWE-CSC will provide university scientists faster calculation and simulation results for a wide array of research, ranging from theoretical physics and chemistry to life sciences and computer science.
