BlueArc Receives Avetec DICE Award

Titan 3000 Series Storage Solution Recognized for Performance and Impact

BlueArc today announced that its Titan 3000 series storage solution has earned the Data Intensive Impact Product of the Year Award from Avetec. A leader in test and evaluation resources for new and emerging high-performance computing (HPC) and data management solutions, Avetec presented the award at its annual DICE Alliance Conference.

“The Titan 3000 series provides a new and more efficient approach to file services,” said Al Stutz, Avetec chief information officer. “From our perspective, Titan servers are well-suited to meet the requirements of enterprise and HPC data centers, with the enhanced storage performance, scalability and reliability to support high-performance applications.

DICE stands for Data Intensive Computing Environment and is Avetec’s HPC research division, a geographically dispersed test environment that conducts technology testing and validation for new and emerging HPC data management solutions. The DICE team works with HPC manufacturers, government and industry data centers and the research community to evaluate new and emerging products and technology that enhance research computing data and results throughput.

“We’re very proud that Titan has earned the first-ever DICE Product of the Year award,” said Jeff Hill, director of marketing, BlueArc. “Titan is designed to serve as the foundation for an intelligent file system that offers superior control and performance. Given the DICE team’s familiarity with the storage challenges in demanding IT environments, this award validates our technology approach and the benefits that Titan delivers to our customers.”

Titan solutions deliver enhanced storage performance, scalability and reliability, and support consolidation and management of up to 4 petabytes (PB) of data in a single namespace. In concert with Titan, BlueArc virtualization, data migration and dynamic caching capabilities help customers implement advanced storage strategies and roll out flexible, tiered storage that is cost-effective and easy to deploy and manage.
